Learn how to protect yourself from unethical chiropractic practices, including how to file a complaint if you encounter issues like overbilling chiropractic services.
Have you faced unnecessary procedures or billing issues at a chiropractic clinic? Did you feel pressured to enroll in an extended chiropractic plan and purchase equipment that failed to address your health concerns, leaving you liable for medical services that your insurance might not cover? Other Treatments Offered By AFC Chiropractors
Sarapin is NOT approved by the FDA. If they claimed your insurance would cover Sarapin, they were likely not being honest. Many insurance companies, including United Health Insurance and Blue Cross & Blue Shield, often categorize it as investigational or experimental (a type of prolotherapy), resulting in denied coverage. Aetna typically considers Sarapin, an herbal extract used in injections, to be experimental and investigational for all indications, which means it is generally not covered. Aetna's policy cites insufficient evidence of its effectiveness for treating pain, leading to frequent denials of coverage for
such procedures.
Traumeel injections are generally not covered by Medicare. As a homeopathic formulation, it is not considered "reasonable and necessary" or FDA-approved, causing it to be denied by Medicare contractors. Claims involving Traumeel are typically deemed ineligible for reimbursement, making it an out-of-pocket expense for patients.
Traumeel injections are generally not covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) or most insurance plans because they are classified as a homeopathic or alternative therapy lacking sufficient, high-quality scientific evidence for standard medical coverage. These injections are often deemed investigational or non-medically necessary.
Traumeel injections are typically not covered by UnitedHealthcare or other major insurance companies because they are considered experimental, investigational, or a homeopathic formulation. These injections are often classified as non-medically necessary, meaning they are likely to be denied when billed for soft tissue or foot/ankle conditions
